This custom double-sided door was designed for a private home in Joshua Tree, California. It’s made mostly of maple, with some birch and plywood. The door patterns and colors reference Joshua Tree’s unique flora, climate, light patterns, and landscape.

I designed the door in late 2022 when the house itself was still in the early stages of construction. I built it at Verge Center for the Arts in Sacramento in 2023, and it was installed in 2024.
